Take the 20 km long hike from Ulmen to Cochem, through the Valley of the Wild Endert. The hike starts at the crusader castle enthroned above the Ulmen Maar. From here, hikers travel over the Ulmen Martberg through the forest to the famous "Antoniuskreuz".

The trail continues on a section of the "Karolingerweg" through the forest. An definite highlight of the route is the Rausch waterfall. Simply follow the signs to stand directly at the foot of the Rausch. The thunderous waterfall plunges 7 m deep into the valley basin: the natural spectacle is stunning! A small bridge over the waterfall leads hikers to the pilgrimage church Maria Martental, which belongs to the monastery of the same name, only a few meters away. Further along, the trail crosses the road and goes right past the wall of Napoleon's Bridge, over which the old Koblenz-Trier postal road once extended.

A narrow, stony path now leads back to the stream. From here, the trail makes its way over bridges, past old mills and steep slopes. Once, 28 mills were located here. It is easy to see how laborious the transport of flour and grain was at that time. The path gradually widens, reaching the end of the Valley of the Wild Endert. Here in Cochem, the small Endertbach stream flows into the Mosel. A walk through the romantic little town of Cochem is highly recommended. Another highlight is a visit to the imperial castle of Cochem from the first half of the 12th century.
